Loot from the Old World

So I recently placed an order from Ziterdes, a German company that makes terrain pieces. They make some very nice terrain pieces some of which are perfect for Lord of the Rings. I ordered some things and this week got the first box of stuff.

King's Cliff

The first piece I bought is this awesome pre-painted hill called the King's Cliff. It is just about perfect for Lord of the Rings. It is made of hard foam and this is how it looks straight out of the package.

Tyranids Work in Progress

This evening I got a chance to work some more on my tyranids.  I was able to work on the flying Hive Tryrant, the Tervigon and my Parasite of Mortrex conversion. Basically, I have the green wash and the base coat of orkhide on the carapace completed on all of three of the models. If you are curious, I describe my paint scheme for Hive Fleet Scorpious in this post.

Tyranids: Parasite of Mortrex WIP

I was working on my Tyranids yesterday and looking through my bits box when I found a large pair of resin wings. These are the Ultraforge demon wings that I had originally purchased  intending to use them to make a Winged Hive Tyrant conversion. Well with the new plastic kit out, I don't need them for that anymore. Flipping through my codex I found the Parasite of Mortrex and decided to try converting my own version.

New Tyranids Work in Progress

I picked up the plastic Hive Tyrant and Tyrannofex/Tervigon kits this past Saturday. Today I had some time and started putting  the kits together.

Since I already have a metal hive tyrant that is walking, I opted to build this one using the flying option. He is armed with a lash whip and bone sword and scything talons, on his feet. I got him put together and primed with the necrotic flesh color I use for my paint scheme.

Hello There

Hey Guys,

I have been invited by Russ to participate in the awesomeness that is this blog.  I have a pretty busy schedule, but hopefully by posting here and on my current blog I can consolidate my hobby projects and keep myself motivated.

A little about me:  I'm generally one of the younger guys in most of my hobby groups, I have been playing miniature games since I was 7, which consists of 16 years of experience (You do the math).  I started off with Games Workshop Games, and have since then branched out to other Science Fiction and Fantasy style games, and more recently, have delved into historicals and moderns.

What can you expect from me?  I will probably post pictures of armies I own, projects I am working on, and then general Lord of the Rings thoughts as that is what our little community here all has in common.  I will try to not cross over stuff from my other blog.  I am sure a bunch of us will have a lot to say after this Saturday when our local game store (Collectormania!) will be putting on a Lord of The Rings tournament.

Anyways, time for walk, see you next time!
